Our managed dedicated web servers come with the Microsoft Windows 2003 operating system as well as basic services and software. Our servers are well suited for environments where high performance and advanced functionality are required. We only use best-in-class servers specifically designed to deliver a balance of performance and reliability to meet our customers' web server needs.

Below we have listed four sample server configurations ranging from a basic low-end server to a more powerful, high performance system. If this is not exactly what you are looking for use them as a starting point and contact us for more information or a quote for a custom configuration.

Dedicated, Managed Firewall

We offer Cisco Pix 501 and 506E Firewalls that act as a protective barrier to keep destructive forces away from mission-critical data. Our service administrator will assist you with making sure the rules you need applied to our network are safe while still accomplishing your business needs.

Basic System Software

All our managed dedicated servers are pre-installed with the Windows 2003 operating system, WinVNC, WinZip, IIS 6.0 and Terminal services. We do, however, offer a number of additional software packages to increase the functionality of your server.

Site Monitoring

All our managed dedicated web servers include a software administration service that monitors the standard web port on an ongoing basis. This is a passive monitoring service that tests the web port at 5-minute intervals. If we detect a web port failure, we will restart IIS. If this fails, we will reboot the server. In addition we provide site monitoring - we check to not only make sure the HTTP server is working, but also the web site or application behind the HTTP request (e.g. Coldfusion and .ASP).

Site monitoring goes beyond port monitoring and focuses on site availability. This type of monitoring, which is standard with all our dedicated servers, ensures that your site visitors can access the web site content and that the site functions properly. The site monitoring service actually accesses the web site every 10 minutes for availability to ensure an optimum user experience for your visitors. If the web site does not function properly or site content is not available an alert is instantly sent to a site monitoring technician.

Routine Server Maintenance

In order to ensure that the web server remains operational, Advanced Media Productions will perform routine maintenance on all managed dedicated servers. This will include installation of security patches and software upgrades, daily event log security scanning, database management, firewall management and hard drive management.

Minor system patches will be installed within two weeks of the release date during the next scheduled maintenance period to minimize service disruption. Critical security updates will be installed as they are released. Major service packs will be installed within two months of the release date to allow for proper testing in a pre-production environment

IP Addresses

One IP address is included in the basic configuration of all our managed dedicated servers. Additional IP addresses are available, but justification must be provided and approved by ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers). IP based web hosting is no longer considered valid justification by ARIN. ARIN requires that multiple web sites hosted on a server use the name-based hosting technique in order to conserve IP addresses, which are in very short supply. Exceptions will be allowed for technical reasons, but must be approved by ARIN.

Bandwidth Rate Plan

There are no bandwidth restrictions; your traffic will be burstable beyond what your plan includes. If you exceed the monthly bandwidth amount you have signed up for, you will be billed at the overage rate of maximum $2.00 per one GB. You can upgrade bandwidth at any time to avoid the overage fee, only paying the incremental price difference. Bandwidth is calculated from invoice to invoice.

Bandwidth usage is measured from samples taken at the switch. All bandwidth upgrades are done with no setup fee, only the incremental monthly pricing applies.

Remote Software Installation Service

Advanced Media Productions also provides support for software installation on dedicated servers, where we act as a media handler for you. You ship us a software product, we perform the installation. If you do not provide return shipping and handling payment or methodology, you will incur the return shipping expense plus a $25 handling charge. The rate per hour for software installation assistance is as follows:
