Advanced Media Productions' monitoring system watches the web port on your dedicated server on an ongoing basis for possible downtime. In addition to monitoring of the web port, we offer optional monitoring of HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, DNS, SMTP and POP for a flat monthly fee. The ports are monitored every 5 minutes. As part of our test of the HTTP port we will actually retrieve a web page to insure that the applications behind the HTTP request (ASP, Coldfusion) are operating correctly. If the test fails we will attempt to repair the problem. This repair process usually entails stopping/starting services and daemons and if that fails, rebooting the server.
